Complementary independent participation counselling – EUTB®

What is an EUTB®?
Complementary independent participation counselling (ergänzende unabhängige Teilhabeberatung (EUTB®)) is a free counselling service in Germany for people with disabilities, people at risk of disability and their relatives. It was introduced under the Federal Participation Act (BTHG) and is enshrined in the German Social Code Book IX (SGB IX, Section 32).

We work
according to the principle of peer counselling.
Peer counselling, i.e. counselling by disabled people for disabled people or by parents for parents of disabled children, is at the heart of the services offered by the Verein Selbstbestimmt leben in Nordhessen e.V..
The counselling is tailored to your personal needs, by those affected for those affected, and is therefore provided on an equal footing. This counselling method can be particularly effective in dealing with issues around your own disability.
The counselling is
- holistic: we consider all the circumstances of the person seeking advice
- independent: we advise independently of organisations that pay benefits and service providers
- biased: we are on your side
- confidential: we maintain confidentiality about the information and data you entrust to us
- free of charge.
